Pool restorations can be as fun and creative for our clients as designing custom pools with a wealth of materials and colours to choose from. You can have a faithful restoration – simply rejuvenating the original pool– or you can use the opportunity to enhance your pool by changing its shape or making internal modifications to increase the functionality and attractiveness of your pool.

Many of the older style pools that we come across are lacking in their design and functionality. Here are some of the design errors that we can fix:

Outdated shape – If you don’t like the current shape of your concrete or below ground vinyl pool, we can help. Kidney shaped, bean shaped and keyhole designs were popular in the 80’s but are not so desirable now. Take the opportunity while renovating to modernise the look of your pool. We can build new pool walls into the existing shape to completely re shape your pool.

Too deep –  Some pools especially old concrete pools were built with ‘diving pool depth’, which not only makes the pool colder but can also make some people feel unsafe, especially those with younger children or swimmers who are not so confident. Whilst renovating your pool we can raise the base of the pool to the depth you feel happy with.

Sand base – Some below ground vinyl pools were constructed with a hardened sand base. Over time this base can move and feel lumpy underfoot and tree roots can also invade the area disrupting the shape of the pool floor. Whilst renovating the pool a new concrete base can be installed to improve the longevity and structural integrity of your pool.

Too small –  We can make your pool bigger by removing walls and extending the pool.

Too big – Bigger is not always better. We have come across many pools that literally dominate the backyard, leaving no room for grass or areas to play and entertain. We can remove pool walls and decommission sections of the pool to make the pool size more functional and give you back some space.

No steps – believe it or not lots of pools have no steps! These pools generally have a ladder which can be difficult for older people and young children to use, making the pool unsafe. We can easily install steps to your concrete or vinyl lined pool.

Nowhere to sit – we can add in ledges and swimouts or wading areas for the kids. All our steps and ledges are lightly cushioned so they are comfortable to sit on and our Aqualux interior makes them soft to the touch so no grazes.
